Making Friends The EzReload Way |
Here was my dilemna. Several years ago one of my internet buddies,
some 600 miles away, had just had his Windows 98 computer go down on
him and had called on me for help. I had been a computer tech for
years and had he been next door we'd have grabbed a cup of coffee and
would have had his machine up and running in nothing flat. He was
completely computer illiterate so there was little hope of explaining
how to use DOS commands to fdisk, format and then reload win98. I had cut my computer teeth using DOS on an old 8088 IBM years ago
so an idea came to me. I could write him a boot disk with a menu to do
every needed function. Click on partition and format and it was done.
Click on reload Windows 98 and it copies the cab files to the hard
drive and then loads from there just like they would do at the
computer shop. I sent him the disk and he was ecstatic! In less than 30 minutes
this complete computer noob had succesfully gotten his own machine up
and going. This set me to thinking. I'll bet there are lots of folks
out there just like my friend who shell out good money to get their
computers operating systems reloaded. I wrote the EZReload Boot Disk
to work with windows 95, 98, ME, XP and 2000. There are no DOS
commands. When it loads it takes you to a very easy to understand menu
that does whatever function you need to reload the operating system of
your choice. It's available now as a floppy boot disk or a bootable CDROM. EzReload has been a GREAT experience for me. I've made good friends
and helped people from all over the world. It's not free but it's very
inexpensive. I still sell primarily to the technology challenged but a
lot of techs like it too because of it's speed and simplicity. Want to
make new friends, just fix their computer for them.
